About Us
Woomera Seaworks is Grounded in Culture, Driven by Purpose
Woomera Seaworks was founded by Rebecca Williams, a proud Traditional Owner descended from the Angkamuthi, Yadhaigana, and Gudang clans. Rebecca grew up near the five communities of the Northern Peninsula Area, and her passion for Country, culture, and community continues to guide the mission of Woomera Seaworks today.
The Story
A Local Story
“Woomera” is not just a name — it’s a powerful Dreamtime story and a reminder of the area where Rebecca was raised. It’s a symbol of resilience, responsibility, and respect for land and sea. That spirit drives everything we do.
Local Cape York Knowledge
You Can Count On
Our team lives and works on Country. We know the roads, the tides, the weather patterns, and the cultural protocols that help keep people safe and respectful in remote areas.
Visitors often come to Cape York unsure of what’s ahead — that’s where we step in. If you want to navigate costal tracks or setup research sites, we’re here with the knowledge and support that makes the difference.
Supporting People Who Work on Country
From environmental surveys to cultural tourism, compliance support to transport logistics — we help people and organisations do their work effectively and respectfully in remote areas. Our team knows the terrain, the tides, the challenges, and the cultural context.
Our Values
- Respect for Culture: We honour traditional knowledge and share it where appropriate.
- Commitment to Country: Sustainability and care guide all our operations.
- Community First: We create pathways for local employment and capacity-building.
